Update: "We Are Guardians" had West Coast Premiere!

It's been an exciting couple of weeks for the 'We Are Guardians" film team!

The film had its WEST COAST PREMIERE at the Santa Barbara Film Festival last week!

During the festival, Director Edivan Guajajara (the first Brazilian Indigenous director to be featured on Netflix Latin America), and Puyr Tembé (the first Secretary of Indigenous people of Pará) got to meet and tell Lily Gladstone about the film project and their work. Lily understood the importance of our collective fight for the Amazon and our future.

Lily was the first Indigenous woman to win a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Drama. She also made history as the first Native American woman to be nominated for an Oscar for best actress for her starring role in Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon. It was such a honor to share about “We Are Guardians” with her.

The team also got to spend some special moments with Mark Ruffalo. It was clear that his heart really is in the fight for the Amazon and Indigenous rights. Thank you again Mark for standing up to injustice and speaking about what matters!

After the festival, the team headed to Los Angeles for well-attended screenings at CAA, WME, and UCLA. Shortly after, the team flew to Berlin and won the Green Film award at the Cinema For Peace Gala!

Words cannot describe our excitement and honor for this recognition of Indigenous guardianship.
